Gulf ProCar gets Stamp of Approval with TCR Agreement
Less than a month ago GulfSport Racing took over the promotion of Gulf ProCar, and there is already more great news to announce, with the collaboration between World Sporting Consulting (owner of TCR brand and technical regulations) and GulfSport Racing.
Without any doubt TCR is the pinnacle of Touring Car Racing, spearheaded by the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup, also with several regional championships. And now Gulf ProCar, the region’s longest running GT and Touring Car race series has an official partnership with TCR to bring a TCR class to the Gulf ProCar.
Martin Hope, Director of GulfSport Racing:
“We feel that our commitment to Gulf ProCar got the nod of approval from the local stakeholders considering the great support and positive reactions we are getting.
Having said that, one of our main ambitions is to make Gulf ProCar attractive for international teams and drivers, therefore one of our first actions was to reach out to TCR. There is no doubt that TCR is very active and thanks to their professionalism they understand how attractive the UAE is now for the International racing community. It made sense to quickly form this arrangement to attract TCR entries into the Gulf ProCar.”
Marcello Lotti, WSC Group President:
“We are delighted with this new agreement with GulfSport Racing for the Gulf ProCar series. We think that United Arab Emirates is a strategic region for automotive market, and we are confident that thanks to the professional support from GulfSport Racing, TCR can finally find its place in the sun and win the favour of local teams and drivers.”
