Bangladesh MotorSports confirms two entries for Gulf ProCar

Gulf ProCar received confirmation from Bangladesh MotorSports that they will enter two Toyota GT86 in a bid to defend their title with driver pairing Avik Anwar and Ishayat Hossain.

Team Principal Rashid Ali: “Car racing is in our blood so very important for us. We opt to enter Gulf ProCar at the earliest to give ourselves enough time to prepare for the upcoming season. We have important knowledge of the Toyota but with hopefully more Toyota GT86s looking to enter the competition will fiercer.”

For the championship, most focus will be on Avik Anwar who claimed the title last year and has a vast experience after racing internationally in Malaysia and India.

Avik Anwar: “Am I the man to beat? True that we won last year’s championship but like in so many sports you’re only as good as in your last race and the score boards are on zero again at the beginning of a new season. We work very well together at Bangladesh MotorSports and Rashid Dante but realise we can’t take anything for granted.”

17 year old Ishayat Hossain is the India Junior Champion VW Polo Cup 2021entering the series as a novice racer with no prior experience.

Ishayat Hossain: "I always said that my first inspiration was Avik Anwar and I followed his guidelines and started racing on my own. Being his team mate for the Gulf ProCar is a dream come true. I got a taste of racing the Toyota the previous season whilst still doing the VW Polo Cup and can’t wait to build further on my career.”

Alex Jacobs – Gulf ProCar Series Coordinator: "With three Toyota GT86 entries now confirmed and a handful more expected before the season starts, Gulf ProCar is aiming to revive the past glory and success of this class. We appreciate Bangladesh MotorSports returning to the championship and the defending champion committing to the series."
